A Fabulous Bride and A Fabulous Dress

        Dena

One of most beautiful and luxurious gowns in the Lucio Vanni 2016 collection was created for our bride Dena. Vanni took much inspiration for dress from her wedding destination location. Imagining a wedding overlooking an ocean vista in Mexico immediately made Vanni start to think. Vanni decided on a beautifully fitted, low mermaid shape – with flare beginning at the knee – to show off Dena’s curves. Vanni showed Dena the “Marie Antoinette” gown on our sample rack in the boutique, designed with this same low mermaid silhouette, as well as European pearl beading and intricate embroidery. The beaded and embroidered motif pattern clearly references French architecture, typical of 18th century Rococo Period. Continuing with this theme, Vanni used silk French lace and crystals to adorn the gown.

Dena’s gown is more luxurious, sexy, and sophisticated than most. The open back detail and ruffled train with horsehair-braided hem add a level of luxury that leaves nothing left to be desired. The cathedral-length veil with lace appliqué, beading, and stones adds another stunning element of beauty to Dena’s wedding ensemble, fit for a princess.

Our Lovely Bride, Allison

    Allison

Allison walked into Lucio Vanni in September 2015 knowing exactly what kind of dress she wanted for her big day. She wished to incorporate some of the beautiful lace from her mother’s wedding gown in order to have a piece of her mom with her on her wedding day. Allison’s custom gown was created with her style and body in mind. The extremely flattering A-line silhouette, hugged her torso and flared outward in an A-shape. Although it is an ordinary silhouette, there was nothing ordinary about this dress. Vanni designed this one-of-a-kind gown using sateen organza, new French lace, and the very special lace from Allison’s mother’s dress. This classic and flowing gown was constructed with long sleeves and an open back with intricate buttons in order to create a distinct and unique look.

Although Allison placed her dress order in September 2015, her big day was a full calendar year away, giving Vanni plenty of time to bring this dress from a 2-dimensional preliminary sketch to an extraordinary 3-dimensional final gown. Allison met with Vanni  for several fittings. From measuring Allison’s body, to drawing and cutting the garment pattern, to sewing every seam and appliquéing all the lace, this incredible dress required countless hours and great attention to detail. After four meetings with Vanni, Allison’s dress was complete. Once again, Vanni made more than a wedding dress; she made a dream come true.

We at Lucio Vanni want to offer our congratulations to Allison for the celebration of her marriage, as well as being named one of the most interesting people of the year in Cleveland, Ohio. Thank you, Allison, it was an absolute pleasure to collaborate with you! We are so happy to have had the opportunity to bring your dream gown to life! We wish you and your husband a very happy life together. Cheers!
