A Very Glamorous Bride

Diana Hanini

Upon her engagement Diana went searching for the perfect dress. After trying on tons of gowns she knew she wanted a voluminous ball gown with a statement look, she could not find “her” dress anywhere. Diana soon realized that she needed a true artist to bring her vision to life. Immediately upon entering Lucio Vanni Bridal and Couture, Ms. Hanini fell in love with the idea of a custom wedding gown. She was swept away by the details in the preliminary sketch by Vanni Wang. This elegant and sophisticated traditionally designed ball gown was brought to life in 2015. The beautiful dress was adorned with a rhinestone neckline and long sleeves.

Diana wanted to make sure she looked glamorous on her big day. She wore a Lucio Vanni cathedral-length veil with her lace and rhinestone-encrusted gown on her wedding day. As you can see from Diana’s dress, bridal accessories, and floral bouquet, her ensemble is nothing short of elegance and grace.

Diana kindly invited Vanni Wang to help celebrate the future with her new husband. The ceremony and reception were absolutely exquisite. The invitation to such an amazing event celebrating this new chapter for Diana was much appreciated. From everyone at Lucio Vanni Bridal and Couture, we wish Diana and her husband the very best as they build their life together!

A Fabulous Bride and A Fabulous Dress

        Dena

One of most beautiful and luxurious gowns in the Lucio Vanni 2016 collection was created for our bride Dena. Vanni took much inspiration for dress from her wedding destination location. Imagining a wedding overlooking an ocean vista in Mexico immediately made Vanni start to think. Vanni decided on a beautifully fitted, low mermaid shape – with flare beginning at the knee – to show off Dena’s curves. Vanni showed Dena the “Marie Antoinette” gown on our sample rack in the boutique, designed with this same low mermaid silhouette, as well as European pearl beading and intricate embroidery. The beaded and embroidered motif pattern clearly references French architecture, typical of 18th century Rococo Period. Continuing with this theme, Vanni used silk French lace and crystals to adorn the gown.

Dena’s gown is more luxurious, sexy, and sophisticated than most. The open back detail and ruffled train with horsehair-braided hem add a level of luxury that leaves nothing left to be desired. The cathedral-length veil with lace appliqué, beading, and stones adds another stunning element of beauty to Dena’s wedding ensemble, fit for a princess.

Thank you for the exciting collaboration, Dena! We are thrilled we were able to create such a stunning and luxurious gown for your special day. We, here at Lucio Vanni, wish you and your husband nothing but happiness as you embark on this beautiful journey of life together!

Our Lovely Bride, Allison

    Allison

Allison walked into Lucio Vanni in September 2015 knowing exactly what kind of dress she wanted for her big day. She wished to incorporate some of the beautiful lace from her mother’s wedding gown in order to have a piece of her mom with her on her wedding day. Allison’s custom gown was created with her style and body in mind. The extremely flattering A-line silhouette, hugged her torso and flared outward in an A-shape. Although it is an ordinary silhouette, there was nothing ordinary about this dress. Vanni designed this one-of-a-kind gown using sateen organza, new French lace, and the very special lace from Allison’s mother’s dress. This classic and flowing gown was constructed with long sleeves and an open back with intricate buttons in order to create a distinct and unique look.

Although Allison placed her dress order in September 2015, her big day was a full calendar year away, giving Vanni plenty of time to bring this dress from a 2-dimensional preliminary sketch to an extraordinary 3-dimensional final gown. Allison met with Vanni  for several fittings. From measuring Allison’s body, to drawing and cutting the garment pattern, to sewing every seam and appliquéing all the lace, this incredible dress required countless hours and great attention to detail. After four meetings with Vanni, Allison’s dress was complete. Once again, Vanni made more than a wedding dress; she made a dream come true.

We at Lucio Vanni want to offer our congratulations to Allison for the celebration of her marriage, as well as being named one of the most interesting people of the year in Cleveland, Ohio. Thank you, Allison, it was an absolute pleasure to collaborate with you! We are so happy to have had the opportunity to bring your dream gown to life! We wish you and your husband a very happy life together. Cheers!

Things to Consider for the Bride-to-Be

Congratulations on Your Engagement!

So you've found the perfect man. Now it's time to think back to when you were a child, imagining all the intricate details that go into making this wedding customized to YOU.

You've already purchased your wedding planning book and are doing the appropriate research for your big day. But are you forgetting something major? Don't worry, we at Lucio Vanni Bridal & Couture have you covered! From money savers, to avoiding a party foul, here is the shortlist of items you may want to consider when planning your special day...

A Second Bar / Multiple Bartenders

If you are having a large wedding reception, adding a second bar and/or having multiple bartenders is absolutely crucial! Who wants to wait in the lengthy bar lines and miss out on Old Aunt Ethel “cutting a rug” on the dance floor?

Your guests are also more likely to order multiple or double-strength drinks to avoid having to make a second trip to that long line. To save yourself (and your fellow guests) a headache from an overserved reception, we highly recommend you cut the line down by adding additional bartenders or second bar location.

Rain or Shine

Whether you have been dreaming of a romantic, spring wedding on the country club patio or an elegant, winter wonderland in a rustic log cabin, you must be prepared for any and all weather flukes. Although the autumnal and vernal equinoxes are highly popular times to be wed, these times of the year are also more likely to have sporadic weather changes. This does not bode well for the bride whom is dead-set on having an outdoor ceremony and/or reception if she is not prepared to pitch a tent in case of rain showers.

Spring and autumn brides must also be flexible with their choice of specialty cocktail. We highly suggest having two options in your mind: one for warm weather – can you say citrus white wine spritzer? – and one for cool weather –cranberry hot toddy anyone? The weather on the day of your wedding will tell you which is the best choice for you and your guests. We know they say that rain is good luck on your big day, but guests may not be happy about getting drenched. Rain or shine, wind or humidity… Be prepared for all weather.

Prosecco

Consider incorporating this new and trendy cocktail into your wedding. Many people spend a fortune on champagne toasts during their reception. However, using this Italian sparkling wine alternative will not only make your mouth happy, but also save your checkbook a hard hit. Plus, you'll be oh so stylish serving the new beverage of choice. It's a win, win!

The Dress

Whether you have pictured yourself in your mother's vintage dress or want to custom-design a new dress just for you, your wedding gown is one of the most important features of your special day. Not only must it highlight your personality, but it also must still fit with the venue and overall setting of the event. At Lucio Vanni Bridal & Couture, custom garments are our specialty. Each bride works directly with our in-house designer to create the perfect gown for her. Designer Vanni Wang creates intricate, fairytale gowns that are the epitome of luxury and elegance.

Clients have reported that they are not merely satisfied with the end-result, but beyond thrilled with the impeccable craftsmanship surrounding the final product. From hand-beaded Swarovski crystal and freshwater pearl bodices, to hand-appliquéd lace trains and veils, each gown is beautiful and one-of-a-kind. With gowns starting at just $2,000, together, you and the designer can custom-create the dress of your dreams.

Happy wedding planning! We look forward to seeing you in the shop soon.

Sharing some our brides photos.   Best wishes!

A wonderful friend, A Beautiful Bride Frenchye

The unique story of Frenchye began with her employment as the marketing director at Lucio Vanni Bridal and Couture in 2013. Frenchye aided the company in identifying the target market and creating a “promotion of product” strategy via social media and print advertisements. She even accompanied Lucio Vanni to the New York Bridal Couture Show in October of 2013, where the company met Randy Fenoli of “Say Yes to the Dress.”

Not only were Frenchye and Vanni Wang co-workers, but also fast friends. During a friendly chat at the office, Frenchye joked with Vanni about how she would be engaged within the next three years. Ironically enough, two and a half years later, Frenchye was engaged!

Her dream dress was created with a V-neckline in the front and adorned with lace trim along the open-back. Vanni used silk sateen fabric throughout the entire gown, adding a semi-full skirt just below the hips – shaped like the bell of a trumpet – without the extra volume and bulk. This gorgeous gown showed off Frenchye’s curves in a sexy and sophisticated manner.

In April 2016, Vanni attended Frenchye’s Chicago wedding. The beautiful pops of color erupting everywhere in nature clearly reflected a beautiful beginning for Frenchye and her husband. From everyone at Lucio Vanni, we wish Frenchye her husband a happily ever after and always. Good luck pursuing your dream as Marketing Director at Chicago’s Neiman Marcus.

Anna's Wedding

Congratulations to Anna on her beautiful wedding. Her dress was incredible.  Her wedding date was May 21 of this year. Anna started her journey to find the perfect wedding dress at Lucio Vanni Bridal & Couture.

To start off her journey, she made an appointment for a fitting.  Her fitting process began in February. Anna met with the designer/owner, Vanni Wang for her dream dress. After trying on dresses, she found the ONE.  Her wedding dress was a beautiful ball gown. Her ball gown had magnificent beading at the top of her gown. She looked like a princess in her gown.  Later that year, Anna came back for the final fitting.  She was still in love with her dress.  She couldn’t wait for her big day.

Anna's wedding also featured a gorgeous cake hand crafted by her mother!  The cake has beautiful flowers and crystal filled with red velvet cake.

On May 21, 2016, Anna was a beautiful bride.  She sparkled the night away with her exquisite wedding dress.   Congratulations to the beautiful couple and enjoy your new chapter in your life! May your life be filled with happiness and joy!

The Couture Process

The couture design process is just that, a process, but it is beautiful and artistic. Here at Lucio Vanni Bridal & Couture, customers get the treatment of a movie star, a couture gown or bridal garment designed specifically for them. The Lucio Vanni team wants to let you in on the magic that happens throughout the process of creating a garment from and seeing it brought to life.
The design process begins with inspiration. For one of our recent customers who wanted a Mother of the Bride, as well as a Red Carpet and Evening gown, the inspiration came from the customers idea from her daughter’s wedding flowers and colors, as shown below.

Wedding idea

 Designer inspiration

From the wedding flowers, came the color inspiration of beautiful blues, followed by the sketch, also known as the illustration, drawn specifically for our clients. The illustration is a gorgeous sketch that begins the fabrication and garment creation process.  Next in the couture process is to acquire the fabric and materials needed to bring the sketch to life, as well as designing the print to be applied to the fabric chosen. Once the graphic design pattern is drawn out, a fabric sample is printed, and if met to designer standards, the fabric is purchased.

Lastly, the physical garment creation process begins. Measurements are taken of each client, and then the garment model is started. The fabric is pinned, layed, and dropped in perfect positions to accentuate each client and stay true to the illustration that began it all. Once the garment is constructed, its time to fit the garment perfectly to the clients likings and measurements. Once everything is in place, our designer Vanni finishes the gown by making sure every stitch and print is placed perfectly. The final creation is one of elegance and beauty, that all began with an inspiration turned into a sketch.

This couture design process is not an easy one, but it is an experience unlike any other. The special attention and one of a kind garment that is created for each client is magical, and cannot be found easily. Women do not need to go to Paris or New York for this special treatment. The couture experience can be lived right here in Ohio. At Lucio Vanni Bridal & Couture, we create that experience and are pleased to do so. Our designer Vanni Wang is world-renowned, and her expertise is incomparable. Come into our boutique today located on Chagrin Boulevard in Beachwood, OH.
